I agree. Furthermore, my opinion is that sellers who mention the MSN rebate should be personally responsible in the event the MSN rebate does not work for the buyer.

<< <i>I have used the msnlive discount and got 25%, 30%, and 20% off of 3 one-of-a-kind PCGS Error coins. I may not have ever owned these awesome coins otherwise. A total of $400 cashback. I for one am glad for the post with the instructions and updates, thank you!

Now if they would only lift the 6 purchase restriction.

No
If the price is good and someone wants to send me 20% back.
The deal is only sweeter!
And for those that already have hit the 6 item limit.
Look forward to January 2009 when you get another 6 item allowance again!

<< <i>My issue with it, is so may folks who jack up their prices so that you can take advantage of the 20-30% off, but really it ends up being more like 5-10% off since they started off with higher prices. It would be a real deal if you could buy at retail and get the entire percentage off your purchase price, but in reality, it's more like those stores that run 'sales' year round on their sky-high-marked-up merchandise. You end up paying about what it's worth to you. >>
the reason prices are jacked up on ebay is that it costs 15% to sell something via buy-it-now with paypal........ though, of course, some people have the pie-in-the-sky bug and are unrealistic with their prices.

I agree. The potential for getting a rebate should never be used for price inflation.

I listed a few things when it was at 30%. Would have never normally listed them on eBay otherwise given the fees. So I jacked up my prices about 15% and listed them. So basically I made a coin available to the masses at a price point where I was happy that my fees were covered and I effectively got my original asking price and the buyers were able to effectively buy at about 15% under my asking price. I don't see that as price inflation as without the cashback I wouldn't be selling there anyways. Sounds like a win-win to me... but I do know several sellers who are selling at a given price one day, then when the promo kicks up to 30%, their prices go up accordingly, I don't really agree with that though...
Thanks to the posts here about the promo, not only have I been able to sell a few coins, but I've also been able to buy several I otherwise would not be able to buy. So thank you for all the attention to the promo on the forum
